Membership will always be free! This website is financed through donations, private sponsors and the sale of advertising space, such as banner ads.
Can I make a financial contribution to Shizuoka Echo?
There is some financial cost involved in the hosting and administration of this site. Although we are operating at a deficit, we hope to recover the costs through advertising revenues. In order to attract advertising revenues, we need lots of visitors! To get lots of visitors we need good content. You see where we're leading? The biggest contribution you can make to Shizuoka Echo is to help us improve the content. Doing that is easy. Just post your ideas and opinions in the forums, submit event info, etc. Your donation of time and energy would be greatly appriciated!
What is your privacy policy?

Why am I still getting email from you even though I opted out?
There are actually three categories of emailings: 1) Email notifications that have policy ramifications. That is, they affect the terms of use of Shizuoka Echo. These mailings are infrequent but they do affect acceptable use of the website or have an impact on your rights and privileges. As such, the only way to opt out of such mailings is by canceling your membership. 2) When you register for Shizuoka Echo, you are given the option of receiving occasional email notices from administrators and moderators. These mailings don't affect the policies of the site but are to advise you of enhansements to the website. Recieving these messages is optional. You can opt in or out, at any time, by editing your user profile. 3) Content change notification. For example, you may be interested in tracking new postings in the Forums or changes to content that you have edited in the past. These notifications are turned off by default and entirely controlled by you on a page-by-page or section-by-section basis. To summarize, as a member, you are only required to receive notifications of the first category (policy changes), which are infrequent. All other email notifications are controlled by you.
How do I cancel my membership?
You may cancel your membership at any time by sending a PM (private message) to the administrator, requesting cancelation of your membership. Your account information, including your email address will be deleted. However, any contributions you made to Shizuoka Echo (such as forum postings or other content) will remain publicly accessable even after your account is deleted.
How can we advertise on Shizuoka Echo?
We are accepting applications for simple banner ads that appear at the top of the page. For more information please inquire via the <b>Contact Us</b> link on the Main menu or send a PM (private message) to Admin.
